About This Product
The electroscope is used to compare electric charge by the deflection of the gold leaf against the internal 0-90° scale. The moulded plastic bush insulates the disc electrode from the metal body to prevent charge leakage, and the leaf is fixed to a plated metal blade on the underside of the bush. The clear front panel slides up so that ionising material can be placed in the chamber or the leaves fitted.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. What range does the scale on the Gold Leaf Electroscope cover?
The clear acrylic circular scale inside the chamber is graduated 0-90°, so charge can be compared by the deflection of the leaf.
Q2. How are the leaves fitted?
The clear front panel slides up to give access to the chamber, and the gold leaf is fixed to the plated metal blade on the underside of the plastic bush. One pair of leaves is supplied.
